Since I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated by numbers. I was that kid that aced their math tests – not so much their geography or history! Growing up, my favourite films featured characters that used math to get ahead in some way and in my early 20s, I came across Bennett Miller’s “Moneyball” – a fantastic film that got me researching compiling odds for sports, and in a strange way, led me to where I am today. In my work, I’ve gained an immense appreciation for sports and games of all kinds. Outside of work, I collect games and have amassed over 200 board and card games in my collection. It goes without saying – I’m usually the one in my family and friend group to coordinate game nights. Playing games is as much a part of my social life as it is my free time. I relax and unwind by playing Dota after work and on weekends. There’s a great player community out there and I’ve made some great friends who I’ve never met in person yet. After a couple of years doing odds compiling, I felt a natural pull towards writing about my knowledge of the iGaming and sports betting industry, and the unique angle I can provide from the perspective of a mathematician. I know there are many players out there who truly enjoy breaking down the inner workings of a game or a sports session and making sense of it through numbers and odds – and I’m right there with them. So, I’m thrilled to be here at PlatinPlay to provide analytical views on all things iGaming.
