My experience in the iGaming world feels like it was destined to be since I was brought up in beautiful Linwood, New Jersey. Growing up, my parents would take me for long, leisurely strolls on the Atlantic City boardwalk where we’d feast on gyros from Bill’s Gyro (what, just because we’re Italian we can’t want to eat anything except meatballs? Grow up). The massive buildings housing Caesar’s Palace, Hard Rock Casino, and further out, The Borgata, became familiar, iconic fixtures of my childhood. One of my first jobs was as a waiter in one of the casinos. My manager picked up on my enthusiasm for customer service, not to mention my sizzling-hot charisma, and encouraged me to train as a croupier. The rest is history! As a croupier, I was at the heart of the excitement, dealing out cards with my deft hands and spinning the roulette wheel for the casino-going hopefuls who walked through those doors. Eventually, I was re-stationed in the casino’s live casino offering, and became an online live dealer and live host, introducing an entirely new dynamic. This role allowed me to reach out to a global audience – I hosted thrilling games and made unforgettable memories with players from all walks of life, all from the virtual space. Over the years, I became a team leader and learning coordinator for live casino teams. I’ve provided consultancy services to scores of online casinos and live casino providers to support their teams. Now, I’m sharing my insight with the world on all things related to casinos and their games on PlatinPlay’s own platform.
I'm Mario, a born and bred second-generation Italian from New Jersey. Now, my path has brought me to PlatinPlay, where I've moved away from leading tables to critiquing them. Sure, they say nobody builds statues of critics, but with my experience, I can offer insightful reviews from an insider's perspective. If you ask me about my favourite gaming genre, without hesitation, I'd say it's live casino – there's nothing quite like the real-time excitement and the immersive experience it offers. Nobody is doing it quite like I did back in the day but hey, what can you do. Away from the virtual gaming floor, I love to travel and spend time with my family, except the ones I’m not on speaking terms with (they know what they did).
